Marika has been a travel agent for over 25 years. She grew up in the Washington DC area, and attended George Washington University with a major in International Economics. 

Prior to joining EWA Travel in 2000, Marika worked as a manager at Omega World Travel where she arranged travel for several Federal government agencies. She was also an in-house agent for the law firm of Collier Shannon, Rill and Scott, and was part owner of a travel agency in the Van Ness neighborhood for close to nine years. 

During her years in the travel industry, Marika has traveled the world, and, in the past few years, has been concentrating on seeing the US.  She has been to Alaska to view the Aurora Borealis, and has visited most of the National Parks in the West, has taken the Montana Rail tour of the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone and is a certified Black Hills specialist. She has traveled extensively with the Civil War Education Association and has sailed most of the main rivers of the US. She recently traveled up the Colombia River along the route of Lewis and Clark. Her most recent trip was to the Copper Canyon in Mexico and is planning to go to the Buffalo Round Up at Custer State Park in October. 

Marika is now based in Tucson Arizona where she services EWA clients and enjoys having Sedona and the Grand Canyon in her backyard. She enjoys attending many historical reenactments and events with emphasis on the history of the US during the 17^th, 18^th and 19^th centuries.
